Manila, Philippines - 6th Nov 2020 - Headquartered in the Philippines, International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) is a leading operator of container ports and terminals across 6 continents. In keeping with their philosophy of continuous innovation, the global port operator consolidated its digital infrastructure and is now equipped to bring 30+ multilingual terminal websites on a single, central platform. Srijan worked with ICTSI as a technology partner, leveraging Drupal and AWS to deploy a multisite architecture that enabled this platform consolidation.

ICTSI operates 30+ terminals across different geographies, each with separate websites in regional languages, offering varying online experiences. This led to a fragmented digital presence and an inability to disseminate to or leverage data and information from all sites. The existing digital infrastructure was not scalable, and onboarding a newly acquired terminal was time-consuming and not conducive to ICTSI’s growth strategy.

Srijan worked with ICTSI to evaluate their infrastructure, assess the requirements, and their vision to create a future-facing solution.

The core solution was a multisite architecture with Drupal, hosted on the AWS cloud. This was designed to bring all terminal websites onto a single platform, streamline content management and updates across sites, enable rapid rollout of new sites, and develop plug-and-play solutions - all of which created a scalable digital platform for ICTSI. The enterprise also gained the ability to conveniently create multilingual websites to cater to customers across the globe. Additionally, ICTSI can now quickly share relevant content with all terminal sites. Multisite architecture will also deliver cost reductions by eliminating duplication of efforts for creating new port sites or developing new capabilities across all the sites and centralizing site maintenance.

Detailed information on the challenges, solutions, technology, and deployment for this project can be found in this case study.

Speaking about the project, Ashish Goyal, CEO, Srijan said, “Multisite architecture is a business-critical requirement for enterprises that own and manage multiple brand websites. ICTSI has been prudent to take action and invest in creating a multisite architecture solution that now positions them at a technological advantage within the industry."

ICTSI and Srijan have announced a joint webinar exploring the need for multisite architecture and the key benefits it brings for global enterprises. The session is also expected to take a deep dive into the specific challenges faced, solutions devised, and technologies used in this particular project. You can register for the webinar here.
